Call the office to add pool heat).  This cottage home offers an open living den, kitchen, and dining area, includes a vaulted cathedral ceiling with beams, ceiling fans, and classic dimmable lighting fixtures, picture windows that overlook a scenic view of the ocean, a slip-covered sofa bed, and couch, a covered street side porch with sitting area. This home has fast and reliable WiFi and cable TV. There is a smart Roku TV in the family room, every bedroom, and the laundry room. The kitchen has plenty of cabinet space, beautiful granite countertops, quality brushed silver faucets, a garbage disposal, a dishwasher, a built-in microwave, a toaster, a blender, and a Dual 12-cup Coffee & Keurig Machine. It has pots, pans, cooking utensils, an assortment of drinking glasses, quality silverware, and a complete spice rack for your favorite culinary creations. This cottage features two primary bedrooms. One of them boasts a luxury bathroom while the other has an ocean view, as well as its own private bathroom. The third bedroom sports an ocean view with a shared bathroom (including a full-size bathtub) that connects with the adjoining fourth bedroom. Additional amenities include a spacious enclosed parking garage, outdoor grills, a large laundry room with a convenient sitting area, a folding table, iron, ironing board, steamer, and hanging rack. This house was the main reason. Sitting right on the beach, there is a walkway straight to the beach with only 5-6 steps down 'til your toes are in the sand! If you forget something, it's an easy walk back to the house to get it. Convenience plus you can run to the pool to relax with a snack or to float for a bit. The house itself seemed a little small when we walked in but that was not the case. The bedrooms were perfect and the central living/dining/kitchen were roomy and fun. Plus we spent most of our time in the front porch so that provided extra space for our family. The kids want to come back so we may be able to enjoy another week at Holden at The Summer House in the future. I need to add that the management staff was friendly, helpful and very responsive when we had questions or needed help. The house was clean, but the outside area near the grill could have used some cleaning, as could the garage. It was a perfect sized house for our family of 8. The staff for the owning agency was VERY responsive to anything we needed fixed or replaced. It seems as though the house has undergone an ownership change and the new owner is in the process of making updates (which happens with any beach house that is not brand new). Hey, mistakes happen but it's how they are handled that makes or breaks things for us and it couldn't have been handled better. And for the record, my family really enjoyed the pool.Back to the stay. It was perfect. We were looking for a place to relax with our teenagers before the oldest heads to college in the fall. Teenage boys need their own space, Mommas need their boys nearby and Dads need a bit of both. This property was perfect. The fact that it was all on one floor meant the boys could each have their own space but not disappear. The kitchen was open so all 4 of us took turns making the big meal of the day but we were all around and available to help. The wall of windows looking out to the poarch and ocean was magnificent. We spent a good bit of time sitting out there with a cozy blanket and warm coffee's. One of the very best things was the walkway to the beach. Some houses we've stayed in have been beachfront but still quite a distance from the actual beach. Not this property. The walk to the beach was short and sweet, you didn't feel like you were committing to a hike just to go stand on the beach and gaze out to sea for a few minutes. The home has one of the best views of the ocean. It was clean and well stocked. I have never been to a home that had so many “home” amenities. My family likes to cook so it was great having all the pots and pans and utensils. The local agent was great with communication.
